Discussion Tools in Online Learning Create Feedback Loops to Improve the Experience
Oct 1, 2014
I'm a big believer in the online learning journal, used by learners to take notes, get things to be sticky, and to share questions and insight with colleagues. So I thought this article practical - because it shows what benefits instructional designers can gain from the collection of feedback and insight to refine next lessons and emphasize points that students struggle with. And as added bonus, discussion and documentation tools help learners pursue informal learning, which, if appropriately channeled, can benefit other online learners.

Short Attention Spans and e-Learning
Sep 25, 2014
Chunking and decluttering are in! Online learning needs to strive for simplicity, for bite-sized kernels, and for delivering just one point/concept per "screen". Yet we're still thinking like PowerPoint junkies. We all need to repent!

Making Customer Service Memorable in a Retail Environment
Sep 25, 2014
It's even a concern for Gen Y and Millenials, apparently. Great customer service, great customer experience, creates lasting impressions that strengthen brand loyalty. Creating something memorable - well, that's the hard work. Reminds me of Gilles the Paint guru, who always had a smile, a coffee/water, and carried the paint out to the car; you remember the details.
